And the times, they aren’t a changin’
Published by martyn.jones May 16th, 2007 in Martyn02/2006:
- I told my Team Leader, HW, that “he wouldn’t have much of a team left soon”.
- HW got a new job and quit (only to return at a later date).
Old Team:
- CP is still “happy to do her bit”
- LE moved into HR
- AB moved to a new company
- Me, I became Team Leader of the “not much left of a team”.
Current Team:
- Authorised leave at short notice for AC, for him to attend a jobs fair, and wished him good luck
- Helped JF with course work in the past, to assist him in attaining his career aspirations
- Encouraged JL to either get on (apply for Team Leader/Transition roles etc.) or get out (different company), as she doesn’t appear to be enjoying her present situation, and wished her good luck with her last interview
- Helped organise RW’s part-time hours, for him to concentrate on his career/business aspirations, and wished him good luck
- CP and BG both still “happy to do their bit”
- RB, RH, MG, and CJ are all interested in becoming Techs, so asked them to liaise with DH regarding this and so, hopefully, with a bit of good luck Techs they shall soon be!
05/2007:
- I get offered a job teaching for Interac at the Japan International Cooperation Agency but they want me to start in June. I tell them it’ll probably be January that I’ll be in Japan. They say they’ll give me a job whenever I come over.
- JL tells me that “I won’t have much of a team left soon”
The irony, of course, is not lost on me
So good luck to us all!!
In dwelling, live close to the ground. In thinking, keep to the simple. In conflict, be fair and generous. In governing, don’t try to control. In work, do what you enjoy. In family life, be completely present.
Quote from the Tao Te Ching
Would be a shame to miss a chance to quote The Lion King….
“That’s the circle of life, dude.”

Most apt…
Agreed
Any idea who is going to restart the circle ??
They need a miracle worker… So do you fancy it?!?
Forget 2 fish, 5 loaves, and 5000 people. How about 10 analysts, 40 contracts, 130 global telecoms engineers, 1 audit to prepare for, and all for £12,000!!!
Ah, the smell of it!!
